Top Five Bookish Confessions

TTT is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

It's confessions time! Though I've only got five this week. :D

1. I still read fanfiction

I love the books I read but some mornings, on a commute to the train, I just want some good old fanfiction. My current addictions are Ten x Rose, Tifa x Cloud and Serena x Nate. :)

2. Book-to-movie adaptations worry me

I'm one of those annoying people who point out during films "this is different from the book" or "the book is so much better." I think with a few minor exceptions, most movies fail to live up to the excellence of the books, which makes me very reluctant to watch those movies and makes me very determined to read the books prior to the films.

3. I want to vlog but lack confidence

Raving about books to people via vlogs is something I've been considering for a long time. But given my lack of confidence and my constant worry about people in my life finding out my hobby, I don't think I will vlog. :(

4. My YA-spree

I feel like now that I've started blogging, I've read a lot more YA books than I usually would and they consist of a large proportion of my reading. Not that I'm complaining! I love the majority of the books I've read this year and without the book blogging community, I never would have stumbled across them. But there is a small part of me who wishes I delve into genres I don't usually read.

5. I'm obsessed with my Netgalley ratio

Maybe it's my work habits wading into my hobby but I endeavour to get to all the ARCs I request. I get incredibly stressed out when a book gets close to its archive date - to the point where reading is not enjoyable for me anymore. And I usually crash out after the deadline and not read something else for quite a long time. Reading should be fun, not work. :(

  2. Nothing wrong with fanfiction! It is how some of us got our start. I am also addicted to my Netgalley ratio. I was horrible until I finally started updating my feedback. Great list!

  4. You're not alone, I still read fan fiction too! Chuck x Blair will forever be my favourites I think :) I've had to give up on NetGalley though, I got excited and requested far too many books! Great list :)

    1. I try to restrain myself on Netgalley too :) I think I might give it a rest after I finish my latest requests.

  5. I am totally that girl who gets irritated when the movie is way different than the book, which is why I don't normally do book to movie adaptations (though there are two that I heard rumors about, and I would definitely have to watch them)! I also know what you mean about Netgalley!

    1. I think the best book to movie adaptation recently would have to be The Hunger Games - that is really well done! But most of the others have left me disappointed.

  6. I definitely have a hard time with vlogging too - I would rather write than be in front of the camera
