I've been reading in small bursts for the past few weeks. However, recently, I've been stuck on this book for a while. I think the problem is I marathoned this series and my enjoyment for the books have decreased the more I read. Nevertheless, I'm hoping to finish it by the end of this week.

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#9)
My reading came to a complete stop earlier this month but it seems that in the dying days of July, I've made somewhat of a comeback. So here are the books I'm reading this week, hoping to finish by Thursday.

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#8)
This week is #Ayearathon's week-long readathon and the theme for this month is classics. So I've decided to finally attempt to fulfill one of my reading goals of this week and read a classics.

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#7)
So last week, I only read the one book. This week, I'm determined to do better.

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#6)
Work is taking a toll on my reading progress again. (And today was just a horrible day at work so I'm not going to even talk about it). But I'm hopeful about reading this week.
I, Morgana by Felicity Pulman
You know my name, but you don't know my story...
After being schooled in magic by Merlin and promised a kingdom, Morgana is robbed of her birthright and betrayed by everyone she has ever trusted. Risking everything for revenge, Morgana uses her magical arts to trap Merlin, threaten her half-brother King Arthur, and turn away the only man she will ever love. In destroying King Arthur and Camelot, Morgana sets into motion a catastrophe that can only be reversed if she can learn from the past in time to protect our future... and so fulfill an ancient prophecy.
In the tradition of The Mists of Avalon comes a new story of Morgan le Fay, one of the most enigmatic and reviled characters in Arthurian legend.
I'm still in the early chapters of this book so I'm not too sure what I think of this book yet. But I love the Arthurian legend and am interested in finding out what this novel entails.
Note: I received an ARC copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher Momentum Books.
What are you reading this week? :)

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#5)
June has started off fairly productive. Not only have I finished both of the books I listed in my previous It's Monday post, I've also started and finished Dual Image by Nora Roberts. So that's three books in one week, which is still fairly slow by my normal reading standards but given how crazy work has been, I really can't complain.
The Vanishing Game by Kate Kae Myers
Seventeen-year-old Jocelyn follows clues apparently from her dead twin, Jack, in and around Seale House, the terrifying foster home where they once lived. With help from childhood friend Noah she begins to uncover the truth about Jack's death and the company that employed him and Noah.
Jocelyn's twin brother Jack was the only family she had growing up in a world of foster homes - and now he's dead, and she has nothing. Then she gets a cryptic letter from "Jason December" - the code name her brother used to use when they were children at Seale House, a terrifying foster home that they believed had dark powers. Only one other person knows about Jason December: Noah, Jocelyn's childhood crush and their only real friend among the troubled children at Seale House.
But when Jocelyn returns to Seale House and the city where she last saw Noah, she gets more than she bargained for. Turns out the house's powers weren't just a figment of a childish imagination. And someone is following Jocelyn. Is Jack still alive? And if he is, what kind of trouble is he in? The answer is revealed in a shocking twist that turns this story on its head and will send readers straight back to page 1 to read the book in a whole new light.
The story summary and the cover just makes me think of Halloween and scary supernatural forces at play. I don't know what tempted me to pick this up but it sounds like an intriguing read. I think this will be one I'll be reading during daytime!

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#4)
If I considered April a bad month with six books, May was even worse (four). The end of the rural rotation really drained a lot of my energy and time as I had to pack for my journey back home. Today was the first day in my third rotation - stroke - and a 8AM to 4:30PM shift turned to a 7AM to 8:30PM job. But having finished Gameboard of the Gods and The Immortal Crown last week, I'm slightly optimistic about this month.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Despite the tumour-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.
I have finally started this book! It's been sitting on my shelf for over a month now but I've finally picked it up and I'm so excited! I'm up to Chapter Six now and so far so good.
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion... she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit - more sparkly, more fun, more wild - the better. But even though Lola's style is outrageous, she's a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket - a gifted inventor - steps out from his twin sister's shadow and back into Lola's life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.I have the paperback version of TFIOS, which I loath to lug around on my busy ward job, so I have to resort to ebooks whilst commuting to and from work. So I've decided to start Lola and the Boy Next Door on my iPad.
So what are you reading this week? :)

It's Monday! What are you reading? (#3)
I have been really bad this month. Work and the fact that I'm still on my rural rotation means I haven't had as much time to myself as I normally would. I finally cracked it over the weekend and forced myself to become a hermit and read 2 books (thus, finishing the Legend series), which are the first 2 books I have read this whole month. I really need to pick up my speed!
Gameboard of the Gods (Age of X #1) by Richelle Mead
In a futuristic world nearly destroyed by religious extremists, Justin March lives in exile after failing in his job as an investigator of religious groups and supernatural claims. But Justin is given a second chance when Mae Koskinen comes to bring him back to the Republic of United North America (RUNA). Raised in an aristocratic caste, Mae is now a member of the military's most elite and terrifying tier, a soldier with enhanced reflexes and skills.
When Justin and Mae are assigned to work together to solve a string of ritualistic murders, they soon realize that their discoveries have exposed them to terrible danger. As their investigation races forward, unknown enemies and powers greater than they can imagine are gathering in the shadows, ready to reclaim the world in which humans are merely game pieces on their board.
It has been awhile since I read Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series (which I have yet to complete) but I'm really intrigued by this book. What makes this even more exciting is that its sequel, The Immortal Crown, is set to be released at the end of this month (May 28th to be exact). I managed to get my hands on a netgalley copy of it so I'll be sure to jump on that book as soon as I'm done with this one!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & #Ayearathon readathon!
Having only read 6 books last month, I figure I really need to pick up my speed. So in addition to doing this meme, hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey, I will be joining the week-long readathon hosted by #Ayearathon, the theme of which is catching up/finishing series. So for that theme, these are the books I'm planning on tackling this week (we'll see how I go). This also helps with my autumn TBR list so I'm tackling multiple birds with one stone! :)
Finish/Catch Up On A Series
Prodigy & Champion by Marie Lu
Scarlet & Cress by Marissa Meyer
I read Cinder, loved it, but was always slightly disappointed that there was no concrete resolution at the end since this is book one of a series. I haven't yet read Scarlet or Cress so I'll be interested to see how this series unfolds. I'm not sure if, after Cress, I'll be able to wait a full year for Winter to come out though!
With a full time job, I think four books will be plenty to keep me busy this week. However, should circumstances change and I actually manage to get through these four books, I'll post a mid-week update and tell you guys some of the other books that I'll be reading. We'll see how I go.
Wishing everyone good luck on reading this week! :)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Had a long week last week so I haven't had much of a chance to catch up on my reading. It's the start of a new week and I thought this would be a perfect time to regroup and figure out which book(s) I will be tackling this week. This is a meme by Sheila @ Book Journey so make sure to check out her post if you're interested in doing this meme too!
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
It is 1939, Nazi Germany.
The country is holding its breath.
Death has never been busier,
and will become busier still.
By her brother's graveside, Liesel's life is changed when she picks up an object, partially hidden in the snow. It is The Gravedigger's Handbook, and it is her first act of book thievery.
So begins a love affair with books and words, as Liesel learns to read. Soon she is stealing books from Nazi book-burnings, the mayor's wife's library, wherever there are books to be found.
But these are dangerous times. When Liesel's foster family hides a Jewish fist-fighter in their basement, Liesel's world is both opened up, and closed down.
Yes, The Book Thief has finally made its way back onto the top of my TBR pile and I am so excited! As stated in some earlier posts, I started reading this book earlier this year but then when I came home with a massive library haul, I had to read those first (as they had a due-by date). I have heard nothing but amazing raves about this book so I am really eager to dive into this book and experience it myself.
(Plus, some of my workmates want to watch the film and I practically had to beg them to let me finish the book first before we go and watch it.) :D
So which book are you reading this week? Leave a comment and/or link below and I'll be sure to check it out!
