Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR

TTT is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Thanks to me being in the Southern hemisphere, my seasons are the complete opposite. So instead of posting a Winter TBR like the majority of book bloggers out there (I know there's a few Southern hemisphere bloggers out there like me! :D), I'll be posting my Summer TBR instead.

1. The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan

I've heard some amazing things about this book so I'm really excited to pick this one up. Plus, it won the Man Booker Prize for 2014. So I have some high expectations of this book.

2. The Scar by China Mieville

I received this book as a present from a really good friend at work. I've read the synopsis and am really intrigued. Can't wait!

3, 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami

I picked up this book at Dymocks several months back (they were running their 3 for 2 sale) but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

4. The Mark of Athena, The House of Hades and The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

I need to finish the Heroes of Olympus series!!!

5. The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith

I've recently finished The Cuckoo's Calling and really enjoyed it. Crime fiction is not a genre I often read but I did enjoy the first one so I'm looking forward to the second one.

6. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

I've had this classic sitting on my shelves forever! Plus, I'm nowhere near finishing the classics challenge I set myself at the beginning of this year. With one month to go, I need to get a move on.

7. Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally

Just found out over the weekend that the film was based on this novel.

8. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

I've seen this on the best-seller's list for so many months now. I'm kind of intrigued as to what it's about.

9. Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor

Another series I need to finish.

10. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I'm determined to read the book before watching the film.

So there you have it, my top ten books on my Summer TBR. Which books did you pick to read next?
